Waziri wa Habari, Vijana, Utamaduni na Michezo Mhe. Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi (Mb), atakutana na wasanii katika ukumbi wa BASATA kuanzia tarehe 17 Mei na tarehe 18 Mei, 2011. Waziri ataongea na wasanii kwa utaratibu ufuatao:-
 17/05/2011 (Jumanne) Saa 4:00 asubuhi
Wasanii Wote wa Sanaa za Muziki 18/05/2011 (Jumatano) Saa 4:00 asubuhi
Wasanii Wote wa Sanaa za Ufundi,Filamu na Maonyesho Izingatiwe kwamba Waziri ataongea na wasanii wa muziki wa aina zote wakiwemo wa Kizazi kipya,Bendi,Disco, Asili,Taarab na kadhalika katika siku ya kwanza.Katika siku ya pili yaani Tarehe 18/05/2011 ataongea na wasanii wa Sanaa za Filamu,Maonyesho na Ufundi pekee. Wasanii Wote mnaombwa kujitokeza kwa wingi.
Lengo kuu la mikutano hii kati ya Waziri na Wasanii ni kuongelea maendeleo ya fani za sanaa.

Music in Tanzania

Tanzania is a big country with a population of slightly over 40 million. Tanzania has over 120 tribes each with its own unique brand of music and sometimes music instruments. So potentially one would expect to hear a wide variety of music coming from Tanzania just as it is in other parts of Africa. Unfortunately broadcasters both Radio and TV, in this country, have concentrated mostly on music recorded in Dar es Salaam by artists either based in the City or come to record in the City. This of course is unfortunate for music lovers who never get to hear hundreds of songs which never get airtime.  Live dance bands traditional music bands, Taarab groups, traditional music groups are also still active all over the country again the local papers seem to concentrate on what are termed as new generation musicians who record mostly using studio generated music, and marginalizing live urban and especially traditional musician.
